Usability Testing

Once we’ve developed a prototype interaction model, we conduct in-lab or remote usability testing to validate its structure.

  • Early on in the design process we can test a system using paper mock-ups. We bring in users to work through a series of scenarios, and monitor their successes and failures. This process quickly shows us where the system is working and the points where modifications need to be made.

  • Whether interactive or paper, we use rapid prototyping to test interaction and user scenarios as early as possible in the process. Low fidelity allows us to make changes quickly and easily.

Once we’ve developed a prototype interaction model, we conduct in-lab or remote usability testing to validate its structure. If testing early in the design process, we typically use paper prototypes and/or static wireframes. As we near final design, we can use dynamic, interactive wireframes or screens to test usability.
